At 19, I owned almost 100 pairs. Let me repeat that: 100 pairs.

I'd even buy ones that were too small, convinced I could stretch them or that some footwear miracle would occur. (Spoiler: it didn't.) And I had about 3 favourites I actually wore.

Did I see the problem? Nope.

I just kept buying more shoes with every paycheck (and bags, but that's a whole other story), because I was a jeans-and-heels kind of girl and apparently that required an entire closet dedicated to footwear I'd never wear.

Fast forward 10 years, living in Dubai: those original shoes were gone (donated, tossed, who knows), but I'd somehow accumulated more! And those numbers were climbing right back up.

Why shoes? Honestly, I have no idea. But here's what I do know: the shoes were never the real problem.

The shoe problem (and other red flags I ignored)

These bins each have TWO pairs!

NEW YEAR'S EVE, 2015

A building fire in Dubai destroyed everything I owned. And I mean everything. My husband and I evacuated with only the clothes on our backs, thinking we'd be back home later night. But we weren't.

At first? Devastating. But then, kind of liberating. I had a completely clean slate. A chance to start fresh. Build a minimal, intentional life.

Within months, I was right back where I started - new apartment filled to the brim, new wardrobe growing by the week, endless donation bags -  because every few months I'd get "inspired" to clean everything out, only to refill the space pretty much immediately with shiny new things on sale.

At the same time, I'd started what was to became a global beauty brand (and was featured in Forbes Middle East - twice!), but I couldn't keep my own home clear from countertop crap.

The fire that should have fixed everything (but didn't)

Narrator voice: She did not build a minimal, intentional life.

The problem was never the shoes. Or the clutter. Or even the fire.

The problem was that I had no systems. No boundaries. No willpower. No framework for deciding what deserved space in my life. I was trying to organise a whole bunch of crap instead of eliminating the root cause

And until I fixed that - until I built actual, sustainable systems - no amount of decluttering (not even a literal fire) was going to solve the problem.

So I got curious instead of just frustrated.

In 2020, I trained as a life coach with the Beautiful You Coaching Academy, which gave me the foundations to understand why we self sabotage and how behaviour actually changes.

The real problem (and how I fixed it)

Then I read Marie Kondo's books and something clicked. This wasn't just about tidying. It was about intention.

I became obsessed with figuring out what actually works. I dove into minimalism, productivity systems, habit forming, decision science - anything that could help crack the code.

In 2025, I trained to become a KonMari Consultant, and everything finally came together.

I sold my business and went all-in - creating Productive Minimalism™, a method that combines the peace of minimalism with the structure of productivity.

Because we don't just want a tidy, organised home. We want it to support our lifestyle, our goals, our family, our future.

And most of us... aren't doing that.

You don't have to choose one or the other. You just need the right systems that suit YOUR lifestyle.

YOU CAN BE
BOTH PRODUCTIVE AND AT PEACE.

If your home isn't a peaceful retreat or showcases joy, and it's making life harder - something needs to change LIKE YESTERDAY.

YOUR HOME SHOULD MAKE YOUR LIFE EASIER.

If it only works when you're "being good" or "not stressed at the moment", you're going to fail.

The problem isn't you - it's that you've been trying to solve the wrong problem.

YOU'RE NOT LAZY. YOU'RE OVER SYSTEMISED.

SUSTAINABLE CHANGE REQUIRES SYSTEMS, NOT WILLPOWER.

HERE'S WHAT I BELIEVE

You're not broken. You're not lazy. You're just solving the wrong problem.

If you look successful on the outside, but all scattered on the inside? I've been you.

If you've donated bags of stuff only to refill the space within weeks? Same.

If you're running a business, raising kids, managing a home, and wondering why nothing ever feels easy?  I get it.

WHY AM I TELLING YOU ALL THIS?
Because I see you.

My Productive Minimalism Digital Course gives you practical systems you can implement in 15-minute chunks. No perfection required.

I'm currently building this course and will be releasing modules as standalone mini-courses - so you can start exactly where you need help most.
